Black Suede Scandal
I cannot explain the disgust I felt when I first saw the Black Suede Scandal on the news. FYI, it was a video of an operation of a gay man who has a cannister of body spray stuck in his anus. The video showed the doctors and staff laughing at the patient and even cheered as they took out the cannister.

I was so disgusted I cannot even attempt to watch it in YouTube. But I am not disgusted with the gay man or his act. I am disgusted with the behavior of the doctors and nurses in that operating room.

I really believe that they only did that because the patient is a gay man and for them, it is ok to ridicule him because he is a gay. Well I think otherwise.

They are the ones who are abnormal. They are also immoral and unethical. I do not understand which demons entered these persons' bodies.

Now, they are saying that it has the consent of the patient. What the fuck! Another plot of the doctors to cover up their own colleague. If they did acquire a consent, then they are not really given the consent to laugh about it and upload it in youtube.

Another thing that irritated me is the comment of the former president of the Philippine Medical Association saying that the issue should not focus on the acts of the doctors but also the crime committed if indeed the patient did it with a callboy. Or such issues such as sodomy.

So now they are branding the patient as a criminal? I took offense when they are now shifting the topic to an act by gay men which they think is evil.

I am so fed up with the insolence of these doctors.

My take on rice shortage
The current rice shortage does not really bother me that much. First, there is really no shortage of rice, rather it is the radical increase of the price of rice which affected the supplies of cheap rice or NFA rice.

Second, we do not buy per pound but per sack. We are not affected by long queues.

However, I am concerned with the global food crisis. The world addicted to oil is paying the price now. Since the greedy Arabs kept on increasing the price of oil, the commodities which needed oil in production is also increasing in price.

Global warming is also a culprit in the global food crisis. The last time I went to Visayas, people there talked to me about how their harvesting period was devastated because of the unexpected rain in summer. Last year, the farmers cannot start planting rice because of the prolonged hot season.

Another are biofuels. Biofuels will help farmers get back on their feet since their produce are being bought by biofuel companies in a higher price than the local food markets. Farmers are planting jatropha and corn to be sold for biofuels therefore lessening our supply of rice.

Also, land conversion. Farmlands are being converted into subdivisions, golf courses and economic zones. Less lands, less food.

Finally, the oh so famous, population explosion. More people but less farmers equals disaster.

So what can we do? I devised ways which you can help the situation.

First, conserve electricity, water and oil. If the demand for oil is high, then oil prices will shoot up like crazy. So start saving on gasoline and shut off those lights when not needed. Besides, it's good for the environment. It will also help solve our problem with global warming.

Second, support our farmers by buying local produces. It may be more expensive but more importantly, we motivate our farmers by doing so.

Third, stop the population explosion. There's enough people already! Stop popping out those neglected nightmares. My idea, if you cannot feed them using silver spoons, then don't even think about children.

Ofcourse, the government should also help. After all, we cannot do it alone.

I really like Doraemon. It's one of the few anime which gives real lessons for the real life.

Here are some of his lessons:

I have one my sister personally heard.

Nobita: Doraemon, meron ka bang gamot na pampa-inlove?
Doraemon: Meron. Pero hindi ko ibibigay sa'yo. Kasi kung mahal mo talaga siya, hihintayin mo siya.

I'm back! Not really excited about this trip. This is like my nth time going to the communist state.

But in the plane, I realized that my seatmate is an OFW going to Dubai, tears rolled down her face as the plane taxied down the runway. When we get to talk, I found out that she is leaving her 3 children, the oldest 4 years old, in Bulacan. She is on contract there for two years so she will not be able to see her family for that long.

I suddenly realized that I am lucky. I am lucky that I am not compelled to go abroad just to work and I am riding on an airplane just for vacation and business purposes. And I will be back in just 5 days.

So here's some of the photos I took during my trip to P.R. China. One of the mascots for the Beijing Olympics.
The view from the grave of my grandfather on top of the mountain.
The old houses in the small village where my father grew up. Pretty nice huh?The scene at the immigration area at Manila International Airport. Such a mess!

I'm back! For the last ten days I was in Visayas roaming around. I don't know where I live, or what I'm doing there or who I am. I didn't even know how I got there. I went from town to town riding buses and staying in hotels whenever it's dark already. Until I reached Cebu where I suddenly realized who I am and I returned to Manila. Nah. Just joking. Haha.

Seriously, I went to Visayas for a business and vacation. Hehe. I passed through Kalibo, Roxas, Iloilo City, Bacolod then Cebu.

Here are some pictures. The facade of the Cathedral of Bacolod. This is the only church I took a picture of. I was dismayed with the deteriorated status of the churches in the country. What pains me most is that most churches have already erased the Trompe-l'œil on their ceiling. It's took bad though that I haven't had the time to go to Miag-ao Church in Iloilo. The ruins of a mansion in Bacolod. It is in the middle of a sugarcane hacienda. The mansion is owned by the Ledesmas and was burned down by the American forces during the World War II. Such recklessness!

The next pictures are from the Shangri-la Mactan. Really nice hotel! Good food, perfect location and nice people. 15,500 bucks per night.
